Who is Zeppy Stardust?

a large ginger cat sitting on the back of a brown couch, a striped lamps is behind him

Zeppy Stardust was my beloved cat and best friend for ten years. When I started selling art online in 2018, I didn't know what to call my shop, but had just read a book about Ziggy Stardust, who inspired Zeppy's name, so I decided to name the shop after him. When I started making comics again in 2019, Zeppy Stardust became a full-fledged character in his own right, as a loving parody tribute to David Bowie. This character appears in some of the How Did This Happen??? comics, alongside my avatar, Coyote Ugly.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes! Due to complexities with customs, I don't offer international shipping here, but I'm always happy to send items outside the US. If you're in another country and want to buy some of my art, send me an email at zeppystarduststudios@gmail.com with a list of items you want and I'll set up a listing for you on Etsy.

How do I wash my shirt?

All of my screen printed items machine washable and dryer safe. I recommend washing in cold water with mild detergent and drying on low heat to keep your prints vibrant.

All tie-dye items have been washed and have had the dye set, so they should not bleed when washed. However, you may want to wash them separately the first time to ensure that they are fully set before throwing them in with other clothes.

Can your stickers go in the dishwasher?

All of the vinyl stickers in the shop can go through the dishwasher unless otherwise stated in their listing. I still recommend hand washing the items you put them on for the best sticker longevity, but I have had some of mine last several years on water bottles that occasionally go through the dishwasher.

I've also had stickers hold up for several years on bike frames and car bumpers with year-round exposure to the elements in northern Nevada weather.

How do I attach my patches to things?

All of the screen printed patches come with unfinished edges and need to be sewn down, either by hand or machine. If you don't want the edges to fray over time, be sure to fold them under to create a finished edge before sewing.

All of the embroidered patches come with iron-on backing, but I still recommend sewing them down, to ensure they stay on as the iron-on backing can come loose over time and with washing.

To iron a patch on, put your iron on the highest setting without steam that is safe for your garment (check garment tags before hand and only use items that are safe to iron). Place the patch where you want it, embroidered side up and place a thin cotton cloth over the top. Iron for 30 to 90 seconds or until the patch is firmly adhered.

All Zeppy Stardust Studios patches are safe to wash in cold water with mild detergent and dry on low heat.
